Mickai Subsystem
Mickai Cortex™
Mickai Cortex is the subsystem of the Mickai SIOS that orchestrates reasoning across the brain ensemble. Multi-agent routing, decision-lineage DAG, deterministic re-execution, consensus gating on high-impact decisions. Every reasoning hop is signed into the Open Audit Record substrate. Mickai is downloadable at mickai.co.uk/download and runs on Windows, Linux, or macOS.

Mickai is a Sovereign Intelligence Operating System (SIOS). It runs entirely on your own hardware, on Windows, Linux, or macOS. No cloud, no telemetry. This page describes one subsystem of the Mickai SIOS. Download Mickai at mickai.co.uk/download.
A subsystem of the Mickai SIOS. The reasoning core. Multi-agent orchestration, decision lineage, and skill routing across the Mickai brain ensemble.
The reasoning core of the SIOS.
What Cortex does
Seven primitives that make multi-agent reasoning auditable. Every assignment is typed, every decision is a signed node in the lineage DAG, every high-impact step waits for consensus before it lands.
01 / Orchestration
Multi-agent orchestration
Cortex assigns explicit roles across the 25-brain ensemble (Sentinel, Hippocampus, Amygdala, Reasoning, Planning, Tool-Use, Code, Browser, plus the specialist domain brains). Every assignment is typed, signed, and recoverable from the chain. No silent prompt rewrites, no hidden chain-of-thought.
02 / Lineage DAG
Decision-lineage DAG
Every decision is a node in a directed acyclic graph that links it to its inputs and to the prior signed decisions that informed it. A regulator can walk from any output back to the originating prompt and confirm every routing decision in between. Patent-protected lineage walk APIs.
03 / Routing
Skill routing across specialists
Cortex routes each step to the brain best fit for it: code work to Code Brain, retrieval to Retrieval Brain, mode-attestation to the policy brain, sky-aware reasoning to Atlas. Routing reasons are recorded against every decision so the trace explains itself.
04 / Replay
Deterministic re-execution
Given the chain, Cortex can re-execute the reasoning path. Same prompt, same retrieval set, same sampling seed, same brains, same outputs. Determinism is engineered into the substrate, not assumed; the test corpus replays a six-entry chain end-to-end.
05 / Consensus
Cross-model consensus gating
High-impact decisions require independent agreement across multiple brains before they are signed. The consensus envelope records each brain's vote, the threshold, and the gate decision. Useful for regulated work where any single model's output must not be load-bearing alone.
06 / Budget
Per-skill budget governance
Each skill invocation carries a token budget, a wall-clock budget, and a clearance ceiling. Cortex preempts runs that exceed any limit, signs the preemption into the chain, and surfaces the cost to the operator. Predictable spend, no runaway loops.
07 / Pre-commit
Pre-commit dry-run
High-impact actions are simulated against a deterministic target state before they commit. Cortex emits the diff, signs it into the lineage, and waits for the operator. Compensating rollback for typed actions is built in: every action declares its inverse.
