The Mickai SIOS

Mickai is a Sovereign Intelligence Operating System (SIOS). It runs entirely on your own hardware, on Windows, Linux, or macOS. No cloud, no telemetry. This page describes one subsystem of the Mickai SIOS. Download Mickai at mickai.co.uk/download.

A subsystem of the Mickai SIOS. Personality, tone, persona switching. Every transition signed into the audit chain.

Personality, tone, and persona, signed at the switch.

What Amygdala governs

Seven primitives that make personality auditable. Per-conversation persona, voice-aware tone, signed transitions, scoped refusals, memory partition switching, voice profile per persona, on-device only.

01 / Persona

Per-conversation persona

Each conversation carries a persona identifier. A formal advisory persona, a friendly assistant persona, a clinical persona for healthcare workflows. The persona governs tone, formality, refusal posture, and which memory partitions Hippocampus will read.

02 / Tone

Voice-aware tone calibration

Amygdala consumes the prosody and pace of the operator's voice via Vinis and adjusts response register: brisk replies for a brisk speaker, deliberate replies for a measured one. Calibration is opt-in and stored locally.

03 / Transitions

Signed persona transitions

Switching personas mid-conversation emits an OAR envelope: the prior persona, the new persona, the operator identifier, the timestamp. Auditable enough that a regulator can prove which persona answered which question, and when the switch happened.

04 / Refusals

Persona-scoped refusal policy

Each persona declares what it will and will not do. A clinical persona refuses non-clinical legal advice, a research persona refuses prescriptive recommendations. Refusals are signed and surfaced to the operator for review.

05 / Memory bridge

Bridges Hippocampus partitions

When the persona changes, Amygdala signals Hippocampus to swap memory partitions. The new persona reads only its own memories, so cross-context contamination cannot happen by default.

06 / Voice handoff

Voice profile per persona

Amygdala selects the Piper voice profile, the SSML defaults, and the wake-word per persona. Vinis renders the response in the persona's voice; AudioSeal watermarks the rendered audio so downstream listeners can tell it apart from cloned audio.

07 / Sovereignty

On-device personality

Persona configuration, tone calibration data, and refusal policies live on the operator's machine. No cloud personality store, no vendor-managed sentiment model, no third-party tone API.

Patent anchors

Amygdala sits on three of the 31 filed UK patent applications behind the Mickai SIOS. Patent 16 anchors signed transitions, patent 06 the voice prosody capture, patent 11 the AudioSeal watermark on persona-rendered audio.

Persona switching, signed at the boundary.

Amygdala assigns a persona to every conversation and signs the boundary into the audit chain. Read the lineage patent, or download Mickai and configure your own personas with scoped refusals.
