HELIOS Press
Inkless energy-aware sovereign printer, no consumables, off-grid
The Mickai HELIOS Press is an inkless, energy-aware sovereign printer for off-grid use. It prints with no ink and no toner, by direct thermal onto thermal media and by an e-ink-transfer method for durable monochrome pages, so there are no cartridges and no consumables to run out. An energy-aware controller schedules printing within the power available, slowing or queueing jobs when charge is low and clearing them when the sun returns, so a printer never strands a job because the grid is gone. The Press prints documents straight from the Open Audit Record, so a printed page can carry a signed reference back to the sealed source, and what is on paper can be verified against what the audit record holds. The Press is a concept device on the HELIOS roadmap, designed and patent-backed, not yet a shipping product. The inkless energy-aware sealed printing method is the subject of UK patent application GB2612792.8, filed June 2026. The application is filed. As with every Mickai machine, the intent is that the operator owns the hardware, the keys, and the audit record, with no subscription for context or usage.
The press is what turns knowledge into a copy you can hold and pass on. The HELIOS Press does it with no ink and no toner, on harvested power, and it prints only what the audit record can vouch for, so a printed page carries the same sealed trust as the screen it came from.

- Specifications are concept targets and will firm up if the device moves to development
Inkless printing scheduled within the energy available, sealed to the Open Audit Record. Concept device, throughput targets firm up in development.
Beyond the standard Windows and Linux workflow, here is what HELIOS Press does with the Mickai SIOS running on the box. Concrete capability per category, with the level the hardware can carry.
Prints documents straight from the Open Audit Record, so a printed page carries a signed reference back to the sealed source and can be verified against what the audit record holds.
An energy-aware controller schedules printing within the power available, slowing or queueing jobs when charge is low and clearing them when the sun returns. A printer that never strands a job because the grid is gone.
Inkless by design, direct thermal plus e-ink-transfer, so there are no cartridges and no toner to run out and nothing to resupply in the field. Pairs with the HELIOS Aegis for fully off-grid printing.
Durable monochrome paper copies of sealed documents, manuals, and records for the off-grid office and the field station, at a concept-target 300 dpi.
Not an inference device. The on-device pipeline composes and verifies the sealed document for print, rather than running a model. Low draw by design.
What is printed can be verified against the audit record, so paper carries the same sealed trust as the screen it came from. The design intent is operator-owned, no subscription for context or usage.

- MICKAI(TM) wordmark on the lid
Mickai is held privately by its founder, Micky Irons. One hundred and one UK patent applications have been filed against the substrate, with approximately 2,234 claims across them, on the public UK IPO register under GB2607309.8 onwards. The corpus covers the cooperative architecture, the Open Audit Record, the FIPS 204 ML-DSA-65 signing primitive, the clearance-gated retrieval, the audio dual-layer watermark, the silicon root of trust, and the host-acceptance attestation that lets the Mickai bundle migrate from one machine to another without breaking its signed chain.
Poseidon, the Mickai Sovereign AI SoC. In-house silicon that complements the GPU fabric on every SKU. Carries the OAR signing primitive in silicon, holds the hardware identity and cryptographic root of trust, and sits between the network interface and the GPU fabric so every action that crosses the bus can be policy-checked before commit. Optional on every SKU as the silicon lands.
Pricing TBD. The price on day one is the price for life. No subscription for context or usage. Only paid upgrades through the sandboxed channel, optional.
