Brain 06 of 25 · Agent Tooling
Code Brain.
Reads, writes, refactors, and tests code on-device, never sharing source with a vendor.
What this brain does
The Code Brain is a specialist for software work: reading repositories, writing patches, refactoring, generating tests, executing in a sandbox, and reviewing diffs. It runs entirely on-device, which means the user's source never leaves the machine. The Code Brain integrates tightly with the Tool Use Brain for git, build, and test invocations, and with the Planning Brain for multi-file refactors that need a pre-commit simulation.
Responsibilities
- 01Repository reading, file editing, multi-file refactors
- 02Test generation and sandbox execution
- 03Diff review against the user's coding standards
- 04Sandboxed run-and-rollback for risky changes
